- Choose a work session (e.g., 30 minutes to 1 hour) where you want to remain focused.
- Create a table with columns for Time, Distraction Description, and Duration (in minutes).
- During the chosen work session, record any distractions or interruptions that occur. Include both internal distractions (e.g., daydreaming) and external distractions (e.g., incoming emails or phone calls).
- Note the start time and end time of each distraction and calculate its duration.
- Reflect on the distraction diary to identify common sources of interruptions and potential solutions.
